To Our Government

To my Government.

Actually... to all governments.

We are dying out here. But I think you know that. I think, so long as girls keep having babies, you don't have a reason to care that we, the people, are dying out here.

We're dying of mental health problems. Suicide is on the rise. Mental and emotional disorders are on the rise, and we are dying out here. Most of us can't afford insurance - and the insurance that's available to a lot of us doesn't cover health insurance. And doctors just want to shove pills down our mouths to mask the issue. And these pills often until they are exactly right make it worse and we're dying out here.

I mean, nevermind that marijuana helps depression and anxiety, and eating disorders. It being able to help people not die from their mental disorders isn't a good enough reason to legalize marijuana in most states, and lord we all know that weed is just as bad as heroin, according to our government.

Speaking of heroin, did I mention we're dying out here? Americans are dying from addiction. Where I live, heroin, meth, and pills are a serious issue. People sell their pills, and the pillheads sell the bags of meth that they traded for their heroin. Then they all get together at the end of the night and pump all three into their bodies. And... I know we aren't supposed to talk about Bruno, but didn't Big Pharma cause addiction in the first place?

Because, I can tell you, those doctors who prescribe suboxone and Methadone aren't doing a whole lot of good to any of the addicts I know. In fact, I've informed a doctor about one of his patients who sells his suboxone so he could buy Xanax. And you know what that doctor did a few months later? UPPED his prescription. Funny enough, I know more people who have gotten clean off narcotics by using weed. I have not heard a single success story about these replacement drugs you give addicts. But every single person I know who has been addicted but got their shit together has smoked weed.

I know that you can tax on this addiction because now it's pharmaceutical grade heroin or meth or whatever. But, couldn't you tax weed too? I mean, I can promise you that if weed were to be FEDERALLY legalized and controlled, like cigarettes and alcohol (more reasons we are dying out here), we could not only afford to take care of our people with national healthcare, but we'd also be able to pay our teachers better and maybe even start taking real care of veterans.

Because, our government and the pharmaceutical companies that control the government with money would NEVER, EVER, profit off of someone's suffering and pain right? Or disease?

Oh wait. Yes. You would actually. Again, I'm going to remind you, that we, the people, are dying out here.

Because, insurance companies don't support life-saving medications, such as insulin, for example. And you have to go to hell and back for a signed permission slip from Satan himself to get good specialty medicines.

And people who have chronic pain and need to be on pain medicine like my mom for Multiple Sclerosis. They're dying out here too. But they are suffering an agonizingly slow death. With some diseases, death is innocent. There is no 'remission,' there is no 'cure,' and there is no "hope." It's just a steady progression towards more and more pain for that person, and their family.

I don't know, I just think it REALLY sucks that my mom is probably going to die at least 30 years before I am even close to being able to try to get ready for that. And what sucks, even more, is that my mom has to suffer and be in agony for the last years of her life. Because doctors treat her like an addict at hospitals, her primary doctors are excruciatingly limited on what they can prescribe her, and specialty doctors for all the things her disease has caused take almost a year to even get their patient in-take appointment set.

I don't know if politicians are capable of love, or anything other than being self-serving toward their own motives and millions of dollars in their bank accounts. But if they were, I wonder if any of them has watched someone they love suffer.

Our country would be so much better if you would just stop acting like you're stupid and federally legalize and monitor marijuana by now. You know it. I know you know it. I know you like the money that big pharma and insurance companies bribe you with more than you care about other human beings or how their lives are going.

But rest assured, none of you would handle real life. A real life with real struggles. A life where your biggest worry was keeping food in your kid's mouths, a roof over their heads, and trying to fight an impossible fight of taking care of your sick family. A world where you have to work, even when you have double pneumonia or COVID, because if you miss more than 4 work days a year, you lose your job, no matter how long you've been a valuable employee. I'm here to tell you, that none of you could handle reality.

And if it weren't for those pretty, shiny bribes from rich people who keep you rich, would you consider legalizing marijuana? Money has stolen your souls, but if it hadn't, would you care about people who are downtrodden? How dare you criticize a whole nation of people, when you live in a FANTASY land? Who are you to say that weed is bad, when you snort cocaine behind closed doors and fondle whores in one of your four chateaus?

You are letting us suffer. You could literally improve 90% of Americans' lives. Teachers could get paid more. Healthcare would be more accessible. Veterans could be cared for. Hell, there'd probably be enough money left over to give each and every one of you political roaches a big bonus during Christmas too.

I know it would require some of you actually working, implementing a system for weed that's similar to alcohol and tobacco. But once it's done, it's done. I promise. And sure, it may not be as simple as it is to just agree to it - but I promise you make enough money to work, Government representatives. If you really wanted to, you could save so many of us.

All you have to do is care enough to realize that money coming from sources who have an ulterior reason, isn't worth your humanity.

We're dying out here. We're not just dying - many of us are suffering. It's your job as the people who were elected to lead us, and to take care of us, to do something about it. We aren't just dollar signs. We're living creatures. America is being run like a zoo, and your main exhibits are disease, pain, and addiction. You're falling behind, and the other countries are laughing at us. At our ignorance. At our greed. And at the sheer greed and corruption that is running our country.

So do something about it.

Sincerely,

Someone who speaks for many.
