Dictatorship was close

Dear Don,

I would like to sincerely thank you for my genuine interest in American politics over the last four years. As politics go, it has never been a high priority for me to keep up-to-date before moving to the US; even with Obama in office, the knowledge I have consumed since you began your Presidency is rather considerable and quite remarkable. Who knew I'd care even a little. Hell, I'm not even able to vote here, but I did know American politics affects the whole world, and I better be awake.

When your face first appeared on the "Golden" escalators, I began to feel incredibly uncomfortable and instantly felt an imminent foreboding fill the TV screen. Your first speech was declaring a run for the Presidency that shook the very core of my body. You said, "When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best. They're not sending you. They're not sending you. They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us. They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people." I wasn't fact-checking back then but I knew that what you said was to deliberately cause fear and hatred of the "other" towards anyone who would listen.

I didn't find out till much later that the crowds you had surrounding you were paid actors; they were all for show! When you started the numbers game, especially on your inaugural day, telling us all how thousands and thousands of people showed up, that lie couldn't stand up because of photo evidence. Sadly, I was familiar with gas-lighting, and here you were using this tool to fool the people into not believing their own eyes or ears. Continuing to tell you what you have done to America would be like telling Hitler what he did to Germany, so I won't waste my time as you already know what you've done.

The damage you have caused has divided a country, families, and friends. You want us to believe there is an alternative world, that the media is the enemy of the people, all immigrants are somehow terrorists and/or taking our jobs, and black people deserve what they get. You want us to believe you're working for the men in blue, the armed forces, the forgotten people, the poor, the working class, the farmers, people of color, and all those other people struggling to survive. No, you're not, your working to fill your pockets, the pockets of your loyal buddies and your pariah family. Just so you know, this division will take years to fix because until you are held accountable for what you have done, we, as a country, cannot move forward. How do you expect us to have a healing conversation when one side bases their information on lies and misinformation?

You also have one side accusing the other side of atrocities created and implemented in their own Party. Hate groups, extremists, and far-right white supremacists are now encouraged to expose themselves out in the open without fear or too much penalty. They have no cause to worry because their President calls them his people, people he loves, and people who are special. The speeches you give incite your minions to violence, yet when questioned, you gas-light again and again.

Yes, you're a great teacher! You taught me things like never believe a politician without suspicion. You also taught me never to accept the Republican Party because that Party is now the Trump Party; they are the exclusive Party for the wealthy. Their greed is beyond comprehension, and "We the people" are only considered "financial cattle" currently used and abused for their own entertainment and wallet. It's not a bad thing, but every statement coming from a politician is now fact-checked and scrutinized; I no longer trust the government to do the right thing, so thank you, Don, for being the worst tyrant divisive person ever to walk the halls of the White House. I learned more than I expected and will forever be grateful for the lessons I wouldn't have known without you. May you rot in hell.

Never yours sincerely wish you are kicked out of office,

From: a person on the side of good for all people, not just the rich.
