5 Reasons Why 'The West Wing' Will Never Grow Old
The West Wing debuted in September 1999 and gave us seven wonderful seasons of gripping television. Of course there were times when, unless you were a political junkie, you might not have understood exactly what was happening, but the acting was so compelling you couldn't take your eyes off the screen.

I often find that news is hard to watch, because it often holds very upsetting stories — which makes sense obviously. But because of this, I barely watch the news, and instead wait for the facts to come up online. Sometimes, I want to hear news stories that I can take in, in a easier way, one that won't make me panic at first, but instead understand the situation, and then if need-panic. This is why I find the John Oliver: Last Week Tonight host so great. Even though he presents issues, he presents them in ways that show "what can we do about this" instead of "look, it's horrible," and then feel like there's nothing I can do. Not that the news is trying to be like that — but you get my point.
Katherine RossPublished 6 years ago in The SwampIs SNL Too Political?
I'm a huge fan of Saturday Night Live. I mean HUGE. Think of your favorite TV show and multiply your love for it by 3 and you've probably got a good idea of how big a fan I am. The main reason why I like it is because the writing is so clever and its parodies are so accurate.
Golden Sexism
When it's late at night, there's nothing better than cuddling up with your favorite sexy, senior ladies. Who are also known as The Golden Girls. As they fight, date, and eat cheesecake, you can imagine that you will be doing the same thing when you are their age. Hallmark has the marathons at night, and as I was deep into one, an episode struck me the wrong way. "Strange Bedfellows" took me out of my deep sleepy haze and got my brain to thinking: This episode exploited and exposed sexism to the highest degree.

If you've been watching the new TheHandmaid's Tale series online, then you already know that it's terrifying for most people. For most women, it's a nightmarish tale that makes us often feel uncomfortable just watching it in its entirety.

#FireColbert is now making the rounds on Twitter, thanks in no small part to Stephen Colbert's outrage-fuelled outburst during his Late Show monologue Tuesday, May 2. In it, Colbert kicked off by bringing up President Donald Trump's interview with John Dickerson of Face The Nation, which the president quickly aborted when Dickerson effectively tripped Trump up with his claims that the president doesn't "stand by anything." During the interview, Trump referred to Face The Nation as Deface The Nation and accused Dickerson of promoting "fake news."

The O'Reilly Factor is done, and so is its host, Bill O'Reilly. On Wednesday, 21st Century Fox made a statement that really surprised no one: "After a thorough and careful review of the allegations, the Company and Bill O'Reilly have agreed that Bill O'Reilly will not be returning to the Fox News Channel," the company said.

President Donald Trump finally commented on the Oscars, finding his own way to make it all about him: “I think they were focused so hard on politics that they didn’t get the act together at the end,” Trump said in a Monday interview with Breitbart News.
Michael Eric RossPublished 7 years ago in The Swamp'When We Rise' A Powerful Examination Of Gay Rights Movement
If there's anything that's garnered much examination since the advent of the United States under President Donald J. Trump, it's the LGBTQ movement. In spite of claims to the contrary, it would seem as though the 45th president of the United States could be backtracking on his professed support of LGBTQ rights. When We Rise is then a well-timed, powerful miniseries that highlights the push for equality that those living in the LGBTQ spectrum are still fighting for.
