Sir Keir Starmer's Migration Plan.

Alternative to Rwanda Plan.

Prime Minister in Waiting: Sir Keir Starmer?

The Labour Party has been hit with criticism over their seeming lack of plans to deal with illegal migration. Labour has not gone along with the Conservative's 'Rwanda Plan' deeming it illegal and inhumane. Is Rwanda, for example, a safe place for migrants to travel to? The Rwandans, who underwent a civil war and genocide years ago, will say it is are safe now.

British Home Secretary Priti Patel went out there to sign the deal originally. She inspected the premises where illegals would be held and deemed them safe. Present Home Secretary, James Cleverly, recently flew out to re-sign the 'Rwanda Plan' with his Rwandan counterpart.

Sunak's Rwanda Plan struck down by the Supreme Court has a a new plan. 'The Rwanda Safety Plan' apparently addresses the criticisms of the court. The Bill narrowly passed the vote in the House of Parliament. with a majority of 44. With 313 votes to 269. A large number of MPs abstained.

James Cleverly, himself, accepted that the new Rwanda plan "pushes the envelope" on international law. Rwanda, itself, has told the British government that if the UK does not live up to the plan, it wants out!

The Rwandans themselves are getting a large financial boost for accepting illegals. So, why wouldn't they go along with the plan?

Those who abstained from the vote or voted against will have their own reasons for that. Those who abstained will be unsure of whether the plan is viable or not. Those who voted against will have done so for two reasons. One because they think the plan does not go far enough and those who think it is not correct.

The renewed Rwanda plan has a clause in it. That planes carrying migrants will not be blocked from taking off. In the past, a flight was grounded by order of the court.

Labour has a plan or is drawing up a plan to tackle illegal migration. An article in 'The Times' says the plan consists of illegal migrants being processed overseas. Those who are deemed legal will be able, to return to the UK. Sir Keir himself, has ruled out, carrying on with Sunak's reviewed Rwanda plan.

The Tories always say Labour is weak on the subject of illegal migrants. If this plan is to see the light of day, it should shore up Labour, against Tory attacks.

Migration and immigration will be one pillar of next year's general election. Will the parties be falling over one another to see who is the toughest on this burning issue? The UK now has a points-based system which in theory only allows people who have the skills the UK needs. EU migrants must now stand in line from people from other parts of the world, if they wish, to enter the UK.

Others would prefer that immigration should be reduced. They say that British people should be trained and employed instead of foreign labour. However, it takes a long time for a medical practitioner to be trained. In the meantime, that is why the UK recruits abroad. Many Brits do not want to do jobs that they consider below them hence many foreigners do the jobs. I think British people, either natives or those that lived here for a long time, should be given priority.

Those deemed to be illegal migrants are, on the whole, fleeing disasters, in their own country. Persecutions, wars, famines, etc, are the main reasons why these people attempt these perilous journies. Others come, simply, to get a better life in the West. Others are terrorists or criminals. Many of the migrants come from Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan. The UK has taken in legally 20,000 Afghans, Syrians, and Ukrainians.

We must be compassionate to those fleeing their nations, for whatever reason. We must also be aware, however, of those just coming here to freeload, also, terrorists and criminals. We must also be aware that Native Brits are affected by this and listen to their concerns, good or bad.
