Harry and Meghan

How to fool a nation

Millionaire Royals Harry and Meghan being interviewed by billionaire Oprah Winfrey

We have all read out it, most of us have seen it and many of us are talking about it: Harry and Meghan's latest façade surrounding their ill treatment and struggles with mental health, money and racism.

Before I continue, let me first start by saying: racism is a very real issue, something thousands of people struggle with everyday and it should in no way be pushed aside as an issue, it should be talked about.

As are mental health issues. We live in a time where suicide is almost a paradox of guilt and confusion. People are afraid to speak out and others are afraid to ask.

However, when comparing the very real issues of a 40 year old suburban father, working 60 hour weeks, struggling to find himself and enjoy his life who suffers with suicidal thoughts. Or a 21 year old male of colour confused by why he still gets called some atrocious racial slurs for simply walking down the street; with the mixed race and interracial couple who are not only millionaires but born or married into royalty, then its very hard to find the similarities or even the sympathy for both Meghan and Harry.

And I am not the only one. In a poll generated after the interview that Meghan and Harry had with Billionaire Oprah Winfrey; the public were strongly in favour (over 50%) of the royals having their titles stripped from them.

During their interview; where Meghan sat in a multi thousand pound dress after moaning about struggling financially, a lot of accusations were thrown about the British Royal Family.

Though no statement made was directed entirely at The Queen or Prince Phillip himself, it was not made clear who made some of the remarks that were brought to light, so hearsay is all we can rely on to form judgement.

Meghan claimed their son would not be given the title of Prince due to his skin colour. And, that a member of the immediate family asked what 'colour' he would be before he was born.

These are damaging statements to make and surrounded with obscurity. Now, the second statement I have little to no opinion on. I am not a person of colour so I can not say how this statement would have made me feel. But, what I can say is asking a simple question about skin colour does not make you racist. Uneducated, simple minded, a little naïve? Yes maybe, but racist? I think no.

However, the first statement is an absolute farce, We all know the reason their son is not given the title of Prince is because none of the Queens grandchildren; minus the future kings children, are given this title. When and if Charles is King, he can bestow this title if he chooses to do so. But, does it really matter?

Titles, money, feeling ignore and left out. These are all 'issues' we have had to listen to Meghan Markle 'moan' about.

To state she didn't know how difficult and intricate her marriage into the royal family would be is either an obvious lie or makes her one of the most naïve people I have ever seen.

Its diabolical that this once loved woman can accuse a British Monarchy of such vile accusations and still be expected to be respected and supported by them.

Meghan is an absolute insult to anybody who truly suffers everyday with racism, financial trouble and mental health.

She states she felt 'suicidal' at times and didn't want to be 'left alone' at these dark times. Yet, she makes these statements with a manipulative smirk. Not a smile covering her sadness...A smirk.

She cries for privacy then gives her statements of manipulation out to any interviewer or journalist that will take them.

Both Meghan and Harry moan about finances, yet they're millionaires, donning thousands of pounds worth of clothing and talking to one of the richest, most famous and well know interviewers of all time; Oprah Winfrey.

Their narrative does not connect with what we see and I believe this is one of the reasons so many people have started to finally see through their charade.

The interview with Oprah Winfrey was a cringe fest of over acting, fake shock and seeded views. Harry was not even present for a portion of it. Most likely due to some of the accusations given when he wasn't present. And, when he was, the scouring look from Meghan at her husband as he spoke is a look any married woman recognises. The look of making sure their husband doesn't say anything stupid. In this instance, it seemed to be a look of 'You better agree with what I say'.

Meghan told a story to Oprah of watching 'The Little Mermaid' and connecting with it as a woman marrying a prince and losing her voice before finally gaining it back again. It was at this point I eye rolled and turned off my phone.

However, this statement summed it up for me. This woman lives in a fairy tale. She wanted the fairy tale wedding and the fairy tale ending but unfortunately; even for royals, life isn't like that.

So before life hits you with even more harsh realities, I suggest Meghan you get your priorities in order. And the same for Harry.

You have both accused the royal family of silencing you. You Meghan have compared your apparent 'ordeal' to that of Princess Diana's. You have claimed racism within the walls of royalty. You have claimed you're suicidal. You have both cried financial difficulty and it's disgusting that your loyalty is none existent. You have accused Kate of making you upset and yet she has gone through all that you have. The difference is, Kate knew the territory and has respect, poise and decorum.

Meghan you did indeed marry a prince. But, you also married the apparent love of your life. You have a nice home, a loving husband, a beautiful child and another on the way. Instead of making up fantasies to gain control and a pay-check, because your own fantasy didn't pan out. Enjoy what you have, because it's a lot more than most people have in this climate.

To claim the British media strung you out from the get go and then accuse our country of racism is sick, immoral and a lie.

The media loved you. The public loved both of you. But, you showed your true colours with the treatment of your own family and then proceeded to separate your royal husband from his.

You're a disgrace and I hope the public have some influence after the recent polls and you're both stripped of your titles. You're not worthy of holding the titles connected with royalty.
