The former Governor of Anambra State is known to be one of the first persons in the Nigerian system who has successfully used the court to reclaim his rightful mandate stolen by some "powerful" personalities in the society in the previous election which he partook in. In April 2022, he left the People's Democractic party for the Labour party where he contested in the primary election of the latter party and won as the party's presidential candidate. It was widely viewed by his opponents that he wouldn't make much difference in the election as he would barely get votes in the election as most of his loyalists are few young persons who are allegedly relating majorly in a room and on twitter; they are regarded as completely inconsequential in changing the narrative of the election.

Peter Obi got the loyal followership of the youths of the country owing to his antecedents as the former governor of Anambra state, his association with the EndSARS protest and his robust manifesto which gave confidence to the large populace. He contested in the 2023 February 25th election in which he came third according to the Independent National Electoral Commission, declaring Bola Ahmed Tinubu the winner despite all alleged rigging and violence that marred the process. Tinubu was declared winner with a score of about 8.7 million votes, Abubakar Atiku, about 6.9 million and Peter Obi also got about 6.1 million.

The case now before the Presidential Electoral Petition Tribunal (PEPT) has been giving some hopeful trends especially among the loyalists of Peter Obi (Obidients) and the Labour Party. Considering the evidences presented before the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal based in Abuja, the Labour Party (LP)and it's Presidential Candidate in the February 25th 2023 election, His Excellency, Peter Obi, seems to have the judgement going in their direction. They have been coming up with evidences in the recent time as proof against the acclaimed victory of Tinubu in the Feb. 25th 2023 election. The election has been allegedly marred with various malpractices and violence which has given the Independent National Electoral Commission a very low score nationally and even internationally according to some reports from the observers of the election.

The Labour Party and its Presidential candidate presented more documents as evidence to the court including some video clips that is already accepted by the court. Though there have been some objections from INEC, APC and Tinubu lawyers to the evidences provided by Labour Party, it's clear that the court have remained focused on administering balance in the case and justice is hoped to be served eventually. The majority of the documents were INEC reports on the conduct of the Presidential election and result sheets. Some of the pieces of evidences were from the IREV portal where results were uploaded from the BVAS.

In Nigeria, since the inception of democracy, elections have been marred with various irregularities but there has never been a time that the President was ever removed based on the irregularities by the court. Various contestants in the previous presidential elections have used the court with hope to have justice for themselves but never won each of those cases. In the case of the recent elections in 2023, a lot of irregularities have been sighted from the IREV, and if the Judges eventually choose to act with the courage that Nigerians anticipate from them by upholding the right judgement based on this evidences, by declaring victory for Labour Party and Peter Obi, then it will go down in history that Peter Obi stands as the first to upturn the declared presidential election results and oust an already installed President of Nigeria and possibly in Africa and if not the whole world. WHAT A HISTORY MAKER.
