Antisemitism in the Labour party?

I'm more worried about the inherent fascism in the Conservative Party.

And back in the news for the first time since the election—claims of antisemitism in the Labour Party. Funny how the—I use this term loosely—"News"-papers only seem to take an issue with Antisemitism while Keir Starmer is weeding out socialists with all the subtlety of a gardener hosing dandelions with uranium.

To say that the problem of antisemitism was overstated for political reasons is to state the obvious.

One antisemite in a political party is too many. Yes. But one racist, classist, Islamophobic party member running the country is just fine and dandy? Nobody, not least Keir Starmer or the media, appears to take issue with this. Nobody--nobody with any power at least--seems to have a problem with a sexist, racist, homophobe as PM.

While we all understand that antisemitism is unacceptable and abhorrent, can we not also agree that racism is also? And should we not judge every MP by the same standards?

Yet, one man is fired for saying, "antisemitism claims were exaggerated by the media", while the man who referred to Jewish people as "hook-nosed Arabs" is fit to run a country.

A man who compared Muslim women to letterboxes is accepted.

A man who said children have an almost 'Nigerian' interest in money is fine.

And the saddest part… these are just a few examples of things said by Mr. Johnson. I haven’t even begun to touch on all the sexist and homophobic rubbish he unapologetically spouts. He doesn’t seem to know when to shut up, and honestly, if it was all talk, the odd slip of the tongue or embarrassing mistake, it wouldn’t be quite so bad. But these are people who have gone of their way to ruin lives through poverty and underfunding of public services. While scapegoating the poor, the asylum seeker, the immigrant, they have stripped our NHS down to its bare bones, selling it off to their friends from under our feet.

Maybe the problem is that fascism is such an ingrained aspect of the Conservative ideology that nobody expects any better of men like Boris. Nobody expects better than an MP who claims the Grenfell victims died because they lacked intelligence... or an MP who feels disabled workers should be paid less than others.

Take a look at the definition of the word fascism:

fascism

[ˈfaʃɪz(ə)m]

NOUN

1. an authoritarian and nationalistic right-wing system of government and social organization.

A right-wing government.

Where exactly do the Conservatives fall on the political scale? You guessed it (or saw in my beautiful illustration at the beginning). You can find then on the right, nestled up to UKIP and just a few notches down from the Nazism... but Labour are the ones with the antisemitism problem? Confused? You should be. Because they won't teach you stuff in school... unless of course, you go to Eton.

Most people I talk to to don't even know the difference between left-wing and right-wing, or worse, they tar them 'both the same' as though the motto's 'equal rights for everyone' and 'profits before lives' have a very similar ring to them.

They are basically the same thing, right?

Yup.

But why should the owner of the Sun newspaper wish to villainise Jeremy Corbyn? Could it be that his socialist ideology terrifies them to the core of their (if they have them) souls? That the system of modern-day colonialism created by his fellow oil barons would be under threat if people woke up to the idea we don't need to slave below an "upper class" to survive.

Maybe, just maybe, it's time to stop letting the media billionaires decide what is fine and what isn't and start thinking for ourselves. In the words of Bill Hick's - "There's a lot of ways to look at the world. Why pick the way you learn over TV, 'cause it's usually wrong."
