An Everchanging World

Food for thought, fight the lows.

Throughout the peak and fall of the Corona Virus, speculations and exaggerations have been running rampant. So how exactly is it that the world has adapted the way that it has?

And what exactly does that even mean?

In January 2020, Americans began to see what effects the Corona Virus would be having on our nation, and for the majority the hope was that it was just another strange wave of the flu.

And now here we are in April of 2021, and even with the vaccine being mass produced and distributed, we haven't truly seen a decline in the overall actions of our society.

Maintaining six feet of distance, wearing masks, the fear of coughing or sneezing in public...

Not to mention the amount of people that are still unemployed or on unemployment, and all the the youth that are now being homeschooled.

The "gradual" changes have not necessarily proven to be an evil or detriment in many or any regards really, if anything ironically, it has brought back the advent of social cliques and caring for our fellow man.

Mostly anyway.

Ignoring the outliers - the rioting, the looters, those that advocated for remaining completely open during the peak of the virus. Society as a majority has done their best to band together and ensure the survival of their fellow man.

Even though honestly cleanliness was something we all should have been expecting from eateries, bars, and strangers we happen to run into. But even then I suppose that is gentrification in some way shape or form.

We as communities, societies, what have you, have mostly banded together and became tighter teams due to the outbreak and rise of the corona virus.

And that is not anything media is ever really talking about. Social or otherwise.

So why not look and focus on the positives that have arisen since the outbreak began? A fools journey, maybe, but darkness and fear have no room if we are seeking to move forward and progress with the new cards we have been dealt.

Fear mongering and distrust needs to be squashed.

Stepping back a bit, the six foot rule, while inconvenient for some, has allowed for better structure in businesses, and an overall fall in illnesses being spread. Flus and minor colds have declined dramatically since the outbreak of the Corona Virus, stemming almost completely and directly from the lockdowns we have been experiencing or going through.

That in itself is something to cheer for, no? Sure if we miss out on some cases of illnesses newer generations may not be able to fight them off properly or at all, or even worse we might see a rise of even worse illnesses, but hey, the 5 second rule just does not cut it anymore.

Homeschooling becoming the norm has created a major shift in our societies as well. Children being around family and neighborhood friends for the majority of their time, allows for stronger home lives and strengthened communities, but on the other side of that coin we're missing out on the perks of herd immunity and the necessity of vaccines.

Quite the feat, maintaining a positive outlook on this strange time in our lives. Yet not impossible.

So, just wear a mask, trust your local lawmakers, and stay clean, ya filthy animals.
