Tory Burch LLC is an Independent Luxury House based in New York City, New York, USA. This House was founded by American artist Tory Burch in 2004. Pierre-Yves Roussel is the current Chief Executive. Tory Burch launched her apparel line "TRB by Tory Burch," best known as "Tory Burch" – opening it in February 2004 with a flagship store in the Nolita neighborhood of Manhattan. The results had been completely wiped up on day one. The next day, Burch's website has drawn eight million visitors since Oprah Winfrey introduced her company on The Oprah Winfrey Show in April 2005, naming Burch "the next big thing in luxury" Since its creation, the business has grown to include 250 Tory Burch shops worldwide. It covers New York, Los Angeles, Frankfurt, London, Milan, Tokyo and Seoul flagships and seven-language ecommerce sites. The largest of its kind is the Shanghai Flagship, which opened in 2014. In 2009 Burch sold a majority interest in her company to Mexican private equity group Tresalia Capital. In December 2012 Burch and her ex-husband added more ethnic partners in line with the settlement of a civil conflict. This deal is said to clear up a big barrier to an potential IPO that has been the subject of significant uncertainty in the financial and fashion market. Burch announced the firm had no plans to go public by 2015. Burch did her first runway fashion show in September 2011, and started to pose every season at New York Fashion Week. In Summer 2014, she launched a variety of accessories with the activity-tracking device Fitbit Flex, making her the first major appliance company to move into wellness applications. Her first and bestselling book, Tory Burch in Color, was published in autumn 2014, when Fossil watches were launched. In March 2015, Burch expanded its home collection to include a range of lettuce furnishings, produced in collaboration with Palm Beach designer and potter Dodie Thayer. In July 2015 Burch launched her very first Paris Boutique. Burch also launched Tory Sport, a new luxury athletic wear brand, on a dedicated website in September 2015, and in a pop-up shop on Elizabeth Road in Manhattan, the room where she opened her name's first boutique in 2004. A stand-alone store on New York's Fifth Avenue opened in 2016, as did the East Hampton and Dallas boutiques. Tory Sport has outlets in several U.S. cities as of late 2017 and an in-store division of the Tory Burch group in Hong Kong. The collection features designs include fitness, gymnastics, basketball, golf, sailing, and accessories for pre- and post-workout. Both the Tory Burch line and the Tory Burch Sport line support the Tory Burch Foundation, which empowers women entrepreneurs by offering access to resources for capital, business awareness and networking. Burch's style was characterized as preppy-boho and preppy-bohemian elegance, and was connected on the T-logo to her medallion. Renowned for being easy to wear and versatile, Tory Burch models are popular with women of all ages and Gossip Girl Television show viewers and followers where they have also been featured. Waiting lists for buying Tory Burch fashions, known for color and imagery, and paying tribute to the 1960s and 1970s, were introduced during 2007. Burch named her line of Reva ballerina flats after her mother. In August 2019, the company announced it has signed a long-term agreement with Shiseido to develop, distribute and supply Tory Burch beauty products, starting in January 2020.
