Reinvent Your Personal Style for 2021 *without shopping*

You do not have to go out and buy a whole bunch of new stuff to refresh your wardrobe or reinvent your style in 2021. Today I am sharing tips with you to help reinvent your style and feel refreshed without actually shopping.

Now before I get into my tips on how to reinvent your style. I just have to say that if you want to improve your personal style in any way, you first have to have your belongings organized. You simply cannot try to work on your personal style if you are unorganized. Make sure you don't underestimate the power of having an organized wardrobe and how that affects your personal style.

So my first tip to reinvent your style in 2021 is to identify your hero pieces and spend some time creating multiple outfits around those hero pieces. If you're going into winter your hero piece might be your favorite jacket or coat or sweater and if you're going into summer your hero piece might be a beautiful floral dress. Whatever it is make sure your hero pieces are something that represents your style or at least are the closest things to the style you're trying to create and of course make sure you are really comfortable in these pieces for the stage of life that you're in. Once you have your hero pieces nominated spend some time creating different outfits wearing those specific pieces this is the fun part this is where you get to play dress-ups. Use accessories to make these outfits all look different or to make the outfit look different, simply change the way that you style your hair. Experiment with layering pieces and how you style each piece for example cuffing the jeans or cuffing sleeves tuck your shirt in multiple different ways pop a collar button more or buttonless. Just play around with how you're styling your pieces in front of the mirror and know that not everything is going to look great and you're not going to love everything but just experiment and try you might be surprised with what you love. It's about trying different things and surprising yourself when you find something new and exciting that you really love that is reinventing your style without shopping.

My second tip for reinventing your style in 2021 without shopping is to pack away your clothes that aren't for your current season and then shop your own wardrobe once the seasons change. The idea of this is to pack away your clothes for part of the year and as the weather changes you unpack them and you find joy in being reunited with your old clothes. There's really something special about opening a box that has been packed away for some time. You get that similar kind of feeling to having new clothes without actually shopping. This is another reason why capsule wardrobes are so effective. When creating a capsule wardrobe you put away your other clothes for a while, while just focusing on one group of clothes once you come back to your other clothes it can be really exciting like you are shopping for your own wardrobe again.

My third tip to reinvent your style in 2021 without shopping is to change your hairstyle. I just touched on this earlier but learning how to style your hair in different ways can change the vibe of an outfit completely. A lot of people are comfortable with just one look and I completely understand that but if you are looking to reinvent your style and refresh your look then why not experiment with different hairstyles. You don't even have to leave the house you can just play around at home until you find something new that you like. Simple different things that you can do are tuck your hair behind your ears and behind your shoulders. Try a low pony or a low bun or try a high pony you can try parting your hair in different places if your hairline will allow it. You can even try it by tying a scarf in your hair or a scrunchie or a headband or if you want to get really fancy you can learn how to braid which actually isn’t that hard there are so many tutorials online. Braiding your hair can be a beautiful way to change the vibe of your outfit completely style isn't just about fashion it's about the whole look and the way you present yourself. Your hair should always be considered when you're styling your outfits.

The fourth way to reinvent your style in 2021 without shopping is to use accessories to change your look. I also touched on this earlier but I wanted to give you a few examples now so for a simple blue jeans white shirt outfit. I started off with gold accessories and then I decided to change up the vibe of the outfit with black accessories. I added black sunglasses a black and white neck scarf and gold earrings. When you’ll compare the outfits side by side you can instantly see how simply changing the accessories, changed the whole mood of this basic outfit, and then with this second example, I have another blank canvas outfit of extra-long blue jeans with a white singlet. For the first outfit, I have accessorized it to create a 90s vibe look. I’ve added blue converse, some retro glasses, small gold hoop earrings and I’ve also tied my hair up in two little piggy tails, on the top of my head, then with this same outfit, I have accessorized completely differently to create a smart casual look. I'm wearing some pretty dangly earrings strappy heels, some gold-framed sunglasses, and my hair in a low bun. Once again when you compare the two outfits side by side you can see how easy it is to change your look completely by playing around with your accessories. I recommend trying this for 2021 if you're looking to reinvent or refresh your style.

So tip 5 to reinvent your style in 2021 without shopping is to turn old clothes into new clothes you can either do this yourself or you can ask your tailor for help.
