The following names might be some of the most notorious criminals of all time, but many of you may never have even heard of them. They're not quite serial killers, or even rapists, but they have proven their ultimate criminality with over decades of wrong-doing and exponentially showcasing evil at the highest degree possible. For these reasons, the following names are not simply the most vilified criminals on the planet, they're among the most feared war criminals ever to walk the earth. Thus, their malicious activities have been regaled as the most diabolical in history.

There's something to be said about them, as well, for their immeasurably evil acts are something they truly believe in, not solely to expound upon wrongdoing. They not only portray the deepest level of evil, but they also proliferate wherever they go, and will practically do anything to get their way. Similar to Jim Jones and the Jonestown massacre, the following people are revered for their innumerable acts of villainy, but also seemingly perplex us all for reasons we may never be able to explain. See the most ruthless villains to date in this list of the most feared war criminals, and see just what it takes to become one of the most hunted people on the face of the earth.

Major General Qassem Suleimani

Head of Iran's Quds Force, which is a Special Forces brigade, Major General Qassem Suleimani enters his name among various war criminals as the most ruthless of all in the securing of Iranian interests across the Middle East. Premised under Qassem's relationship with Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the two seemingly work together in proliferating the Setad business empire.

Much of what Qassem does is centered on his adoration for Iran culture. He usually carries out assassinations, arms allies, funds militant groups, and intervenes in Syria so as to keep President Assad in power. His covert operations against the US and Israel have shown his menacing capabilities not only as a war general, but among the most fearsome war criminals still on the run.

Sun Kailiang

Based out of China and captain in the People's Liberation Army, Sun Kailang is among the first new war criminals for his continued "superhacking" and disruption of US concessions through cyberwarfare. Though there have been many attempts at stopping him using what's called counter-offensive virus software, him and his five-man team still continue their economic espionage today.

Having been charged by the FBI with illegally accessing six US companies' computer systems, all of which were incidentally related to the nuclear industry, and for also controlling computers to steal trade secrets and technical specifications, Kailiang is among the most talented cyber terrorists and war criminals.

General Hideki Tojo

Named the 27th Prime Minister of Japan, General Hideki Tojo surely makes for one of the most politically minded war criminals, for his leadership of the Imperial Rule Assistance Association between 1940 and 1945 proves his motivations were highly stringent upon the government.

General Tojo also held various high ranking positions within the Imperial Japanese Army and was among the most prominent individuals in the Pacific Wars. After his arrest following the defeat of Japan and the Axis during WWII, Tojo was sentenced to death and hanged in 1948.

Abubakar Shekau

Leader of Boko Haram and well-known Islamist terrorist, Abubakar Shekau, which can actually be translated into English as meaning "Western education is a sin," is the bearer of many a variety of connotations, one such being the mass kidnapper and another quite simply one of the most hunted war criminals to date.

Mostly operating in and around Nigeria, Shekau wants nothing more than to introduce Sharia law and establish an Islamic state in Nigeria. He does this in a number of ways, most notable of them is mass bombings and village massacres. The only way he can be stopped, according the UN, is reducing poverty in Boko Haram strongholds and by creating a more fundamental educational system for Muslim support.

Omar al-Bashir

Named the first head of state to be indicted by the ICC in 2009, Omar al-Bashir's various criminal activities as Sudan's president since 1989 (and still even to this day, I might add) prove he's among the most active criminal warlords to date. Since he attained power he had been naming himself various leadership roles, until finally setting himself on president.

According to the various allegations against him, one goes so far as to claim his involvement in the order to rape, murder and torture civilians in Darfur. As of January 2017, the Sudanese president's net worth reaches somewhere around $1 billion.

Charles Taylor

The Liberian-based, US college-educated former politician, Charles Taylor, appears to be one of the least likely war criminals, yet is among the most prominent by far. After graduating from Bentley College in 1977, he helped carry out a revolt against sitting President Tolbert.

After fleeing arrest and holing up in Libya, Taylor moved on to guerrilla warfare, educated by none other than Gaddafi himself and according to various claims may have even instigated the Sierra Leone Civil War. Once he overthrew Samuel Doe and gained the title of President of Liberia, he began recruiting child soldiers and wasn't forced into exile until the Second Liberian Civil War broke out. He was sentenced to 50 years imprisonment following the Special Court for Sierra Leone.

Reinhard Heydrich

Apart from the fact that he was among the major officials to plan and execute the Holocaust, Reinhard Heydrich is considered by many historians as being one of the most evil and darkest war criminals from the Nazi Party.

In addition to singlehandedly initializing the Holocaust, Heydrich is also said to have converted the Gestapo into a terrorizing force of unnatural criminal activities. He was the one to administer the "Final Solution," which was the final extermination process of the Jewish population. He was killed from the injuries he sustained in an attack by Czech and Slovak soldiers.

Josef Mengele

Known as "the angel of death," Josef Mengele certainly made a name for himself during World War II. He may be one of many reasons why veterans go back to war, in order stop the most ruthless and demented villainy around. He, unfortunately, would evade capture in South America for the remainder of his life following 1945.

As far as war criminals go, Mengele utilized various war crimes and crimes against humanity in order to shape his image into the most gruesome Nazis physicians. Not only did he preform rather deadly human experiments on prisoners, he was also the one who selected victims for the gas chambers. He's probably the most demented of individuals on this list, for the story of Edith Eger is enough to move the firmest of people to tears.

Joseph Kony

Leader of the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) and the unstated king of all African warlords, Kony is most assuredly one of the few names most people will know automatically from this list. Since 2005, the fugitive still continues to be hunted today, having been indicted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) on nearly 33 counts.

While he may be one of the most well known war criminals, Kony is also a highly dangerous individual who has, since 1987, instituted guerrilla warfare against many African countries, most notably Uganda, Congo, South Sudan, and Central African Republic.

Irma Grese

Having worked on various concentration camps during World War II, Irma Grese would later become known as "the Hyena of Auschwitz." When it comes to war criminals, there's very few female considerations, besides that of Ilse Koch, another concentration camp overseer awarded the title of war criminal.

Grese proved herself to be among the most ruthless war criminals by her choosing which inmates to kill after her being promoted to warden at both Bergen-Belsen and Auschwitz. At these two places, Grese would proliferate as many ways of abuse as she could; whether they were sexual or physically abusive in nature, it mattered little, as long as the prisoners were either killed or tortured in the most sadistic ways possible.

Karl Brandt

Being the actual physician to Adolf Hitler in and of itself may prove to be his most evil occupation, but that's not what landed him among the most vilified war criminals. In fact, Karl Brandt may be the most ruthless on this list for his carrying out of the Aktion T4 euthanasia program, which saw over 70,000 people killed in German and Austrian hospitals.

Once he successfully gained Hitler's trust, Brandt was given the head of operations for the 2-year long euthanasia project, in addition to a series of cruel experiments on prisoners of war, in addition to many civilians. For this and a variety of reasons, Brandt was labeled a tyrannically sadistic war criminal and was sentenced to death by a US tribunal following his arrest in the culmination of WWII.
