Who doesn't dream about having their own private luxury plane? These are the top ten most expensive presidential planes in the world.

It's easy to have your very own private airplane, just become a president! This list of the most expensive presidential planes will prove to you how much flying private will cost you, let alone purchasing your own plane.

From Mexico's $600 million vehicle to the Zimbabwean president's controversial $400 million spending spree, which would you chose to fly if you could? If this doesn't scream luxury, we don't know what will.

Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner - Mexico

Otherwise known as the "José María Morelos y Pavón," the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner is the current Mexican presidential aircraft. And to start off our list of the most expensive presidential planes, this Dreamliner takes the cake.

Worth $600 million, the Mexican president, Enrique Peña Netio, has full custody of this beauty. Currently the most expensive plane in the world, it can even reach speeds of 1,000 miles per hour, allowing it to fly from the west coast of North America to the east coast of Asia. Its inaugural flight was in 2016, a trip to Hermosillo to commemorate the Mexican Air Force.

Airbus A380 - Saudi Arabia

Costing $500 million, Airbus A380 was the former prince of Saudi Arabia's ticket to travel the world. What looked like a five-star hotel, it was purchased by the Prince Al-Waleed in 2007. The world's largest passenger airplane, it can hold up to 800 people onboard.

The event of the billionaire investor and Prince purchasing this passenger plane was so momentous that the Airbus released a press release the following month regarding it:

“Prince Al-Waleed’s order means that Airbus’ sales success in the corporate jet market now extends from its smallest aircraft, the A318 Elite, all the way up to its largest, the A380 Flying Palace."

Boeing 767 - Zimbabwe

Next, on our list of the most expensive presidential planes ranks in at $400 million, Zimbabwe's Boeing 767. Representing Zimbabwe's national flag, the plane is decorated with red, yellow, green, and black stripes.

Though Zimbabwe is not considered to be one of Africa's richest countries, the plane is an incredible piece of equipment, and huge. As one of the most luxurious presidential planes, Robert Mugabe was actually widely criticized for his incredible purchase.

Air Force One - US

Air Force One, or Boeing VC-25, is the American military version of the Boeing 747, modified for presidential transportation. Operated by the United States Air Force, this is where the name Air Force One comes from. This name is the call sign of any US Air Force aircraft carrying the President of the United States. So for instance, there are two aircraft types that exist, the first being the Boeing 747-200B, which we will soon talk about, and the other being VC-25A.

The two operate in collaboration with the Marine One helicopters as well as motorcade transportation. Barack Obama has been known to have held countless meetings aboard the VC-25. And ranking in as $325 million, it is certainly one of the most luxurious planes in the world. The best part? The spaces onboard are dedicated to desks, technology, and even a conference room.

Boeing 747-200B - US

Now, we can talk a little about Boeing 747. The American wide-body commercial jet airliner that works in conjunction with the VC-25 to transport the President of the United States.

As one of the most expensive presidential planes, this airplane costs about $325 million. With four turbofan engines, the plane can travel at a remarkable 969 km per hour. And of course, the interior is luxurious as can be.

Boeing 747SP - Yemen

Yemen's Boeing 747SP was last flown a few years ago during the Yemeni Civil War. Owned by the President of Yemen, the plane was struck by gunfire in 2015 and was completely destroyed by fire after the gunfire.

However, it is still considered to be one of the most expensive presidential planes. The plane that was sadly caught in the crossfire was soon turned into $300 million worth of ash. Owned by Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi, the plane was certainly worth a pretty penny.

Airbus A340-600 - Jordan

Jordan's leader has the luxury of flying around in this Airbus worth $275 million. Almost 76 meters large, the aircraft even has the latest fuel-saving technology with four light Rolls-Royce Trent 500 engines, which happen to be more environmentally friendly than most.

Also brag-worthy for its safety, the plane has one of the safest flights in its class. You tell us, is it worth $275? Some of the other users of this plane include the French Air Force, Royal Brunei Airlines, Qatar Amiri Flight, and Royal Saudi Air Force.

Boeing 777-300ER - Bangladesh

At a high price of $260 million, Bangladesh's Boeing 777-300ER is one of the most expensive presidential planes. Believe it or not, this version of the plane is actually considered to be a lighter and more efficient version.

Seating meant for business and economy, the plane can fly nonstop to European destinations of the Bengali President's choice. And, it even produces 22 percent less carbon dioxide than previous models of Boeing.

Airbus A340-313 - Germany

The Airbus A340-313, or the Konrad Adenauer, is the German aircraft used by the government for official diplomatic business and travel. However, two different aircrafts have taken on the name. Maintained by the Luftwaffe, it was originally developed by the European aerospace company Airbus.

The aircraft can seat up to 375 passengers, and has a range of 6,000 to 9,000 nautical miles. Costing around $260 million, it ranks in as one of the most expensive presidential planes in the world.

Airbus A340-500 - Tunisia

To finish off our list of the most expensive presidential planes, we're ending on Tunisia's luxury aircraft, the Airbus A340-500.

With Rolls-Royce Trent 500 powered engines, the A340-500 was first obtained by the Indian carrier Kingfisher Airlines before the Tunisian state acquired it. And for over $200 million, it has some of the best and most recent technology an aircraft can have.
