Introducing Creator Bonuses on Vocal

Bonuses for a job well done—from the Vocal team, directly to your Wallet.

By Justin @ VocalPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

Today we’re rolling out Vocal Creator Bonuses: a more direct way for the Vocal team to reward creators directly in their Wallet.

Creator Bonuses, in conjunction with Vocal's other monetization features like Reads, Tips, and Challenges, help creators by providing an extra opportunity to earn money on Vocal.

Unlike Tips, which are payments sent directly to your Stripe account and do not reflect in your current balance, Creator Bonuses allow the Vocal team to add money to your current Wallet balance. For example, if you have accrued $48 from Reads and receive a $20 Bonus from Vocal, your total balance would be $68.

Bonuses reflect immediately in your Wallet’s balance and are displayed in your Wallet's transaction history.

Why Bonuses?

Bonuses give us the chance to support creators more directly. They help distinguish between support from our team and support from your fans. When you receive a Tip, it’s from a reader who wants to say thanks and support you. When you receive a Bonus, it’s because the Vocal team wanted to send a reward for creating something amazing.

How do I receive a Bonus?

There are a number of ways you could receive a bonus from the Vocal team.

Here are a few examples:

✅ Your story was selected as a Top Story.

✅ You reached an exciting reads or profile milestone.

✅ You won a Creator Challenge. Challenge earnings will now be sent as a Bonus to your Vocal Wallet.

✅ You're giving back to the community by liking, sharing, and tipping other creators.

If you have any questions or feedback about this feature, please always feel free to get in touch with our customer support team.
