Playlist of Bi-gal

Since the age of 7, while in 2nd grade. I began the long journey of trying to understand as to why I had similar feelings to other women as I did towards men. At the age of 13 realized it's because I'm bisexual. During which, I found music that helped me to understand that it was perfectly normal. Also that I'm not alone.

The songs and artists that helped me through those confusing and revolutionary times are in this list. Some songs more so on the goofy and almost parody side, and others more serious and partially soulful.

I Kissed a Girl - Katy Perry

Firework - Katy Perry

Though with Katy Perry's upbringing, she is open to the fact she is fluid in her sexuality. Where she doesn't give an exact word to it, but is open to the things she has done through her songs.

Dear Mr. President - P!nk

U + Ur Hand - P!nk

Raise Your Glass - P!nk

So What – P!nk

P!nk being a huge supporter of the LGBTQ+ community, though she never specifies what her own sexuality is. Which is great that she doesn't feel the need to label or classify. Where whoever she is with, is due to her loving them, and nothing else.

Star Sky – Two Steps from Hell

Though not too clear about their stance, but listening to this song always reminds me of unrequited love, regardless of the situation. Where one person is somewhere on their journey and the other is somewhere else in it. Which they don't bring in anything about gender, rather their own souls.

I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me) - Whitney Houston

Tainted Love - Soft Cell

Dancing Queen – ABBA

ABBA has been a supporter of the LGBTQ+ community and has been grateful that the community enjoys their music as much as they do. Also giving thanks to the community for bringing them back to the music scene.

If You Were Gay - Avenue Q

A puppet crew similar to Sesame Street, though geared towards adults. Usually do shows around New York. Mostly they discuss the same topics on every show, using songs. Which they are mostly comedic with the topics.

Sanctuary - Hikaru Utada

Simple and Clean - Hikaru Utada

Sakura Drops - Hikaru Utada

Face My Fears - Hikaru Utada

Hikaru is an American born Japanese Pop star. She has done a few songs about the LGBTQ+ community and is an open Bisexual. First heard her music from playing the Square Enix / Square Soft game 'Kingdom Hearts', which the opening song being Simple and Clean.

Like A Virgin – Madonna

Along with ABBA, Madonna is one of the biggest icons of the LGBTQ+ community. Between helping the LGBTQ+ community gain their voice and helping them receive work, to also helping actors come out of the "closet".

Do You Really Want to Hurt Me? - Culture Club

Karma Chameleon - Culture Club

Culture Club was a big deal, between having a gay lead singer and an overall diverse band. Which helped make them who they are both in the music world and the LGBTQ+.

Venus - Bananarama

Tainted Love - Soft Cell

Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go - Wham!

Through the first 14 years after they became famous, George hid in the "closet", but the band was an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. Then when he came out, it wasn't a surprise but made them bigger through the recognition.

Obviously not all of the songs are about the LGBTQ+ community, but the band / singer is either part of the community, or an advocate. Which when asked about those situations, love life or how they see the LGBTQ+, they are open about their opinions and experiences.
