i wasn't always candid

and i wasn't always brave

By kpPublished 2 years ago • Updated 2 years ago • 1 min read

once upon my bipolar years,

if i had told you that i loved you,

with everything that meant,

i'd have been telling you that i would give up my world to enter yours.

maybe you would have committed then.

maybe we'd still be together.

maybe we'd be married.

maybe not.

I am a non-binary, trans-masc writer. I work to dismantle internalized structures of oppression, such as the gender binary, class, and race. My writing is personal but anecdotally points to a larger political picture of systemic injustice.
