Beneath

When you spend so much time Beneath, it can be hard to remember who you are. The outer shell, the mask you put on for others, they become so hard to remove. If you’re not careful you can become trapped. Stuck in the Beneath … forever. With no way out, there is no hope, there is no light … there is only darkness in the Beneath.

Then something breaks … something snaps … something cracks … just a little, just enough. What’s that feeling? There’s a sensation like a rush of warm air coursing all around you. Breathing becomes less strained, less Painful. Thoughts clear and a fog lifts from your mind, long dormant memories, feelings, and desires bubble to the surface in waves of … what is that feeling? One you haven’t felt in a long time … Joy. You smile as another surge of euphoric joy cascades through your entire body and mind.

Chase that feeling … explore the cracks, escape Beneath …

The Fear fades away … no more cowering in the Beneath, scared that you will be discovered or found out. That someone will, see under the surface, an underside that you now will and encourage to rise up to the top. Slowly, with each passing minute, hour, and day. Fear subsides, making way for … Acceptance. With Acceptance of who you are, that this is real and you are valid and there’s nothing wrong with you. You finally accept … you, and there is no more Fear. More of the outer shell splinters, cracks, and falls to the wayside.

This is who you are and that is wonderful …

The Hate for yourself you felt you deserved and heaped upon yourself in the Beneath … Hate of your outer shell, of your very existence because you were told for so long that you were wrong, you were bad, you were a sin. In the Beneath you soaked in this Hate, unjustly and unwarranted. You must seek the greatest adversary of the Beneath and of the shell, the enemy of Hate … you must find Love. Love is the answer to many of the problems caused by the Beneath. Love of you first and foremost will cause great damage to the shell, if sustained and securely footed in Love, you will never again fall victim of the Beneath. Always seek and stay firm in Love. Love of you. Love of others and their Love for you. Love of your creator, Love of the world and your place in it. Brush those flakes of shell away and find Love for it is needed for what is to come.

Love is always wise, and Hate is always foolish …

But what of the Pain? What does one do with all the Pain? The Beneath is a tormentous place, the longer one stays there, the more Pain there is. Emotional trauma, spiritual scars, sometimes even physical wounds that stem from the Beneath and are revealed on the shell. Well, with time … and with the help of Love, there is a chance to Heal. Some wounds you can manage and treat ourselves, others need the help of friends, of family, of our chosen family. Although, at times the scars stem from those very people we need and the Pain becomes manifested within you … in the Beneath. In these times, you must find shelter in Love where you can. But know this … trust this, you are Loved and you can cast off the last of the shell with the Love you find along the way.

It’s okay now … you’re safe. You can Heal …

As you begin to Grow, now free of the Beneath and free of the shell that held you for so long. One must let go of the Anger and its embers that still reside. Give it no fuel, the Anger of ‘wishing it happened sooner’ of ‘all the wasted time’ … grieve these things, but do not hold on to Anger. The past is untraversable, but the future is yours now. Continue to Grow into the real you, Grow and learn what it is to be you, to know who you really are. Growing is a step that continues on as the rising sun. Each day brings a new opportunity to learn and Grow, forever keeping you from the dangers of the Beneath.

Welcome the real you into this crazy, wild, and beautiful world …

For once we find the strength to break,

We are Cracked for the better;

Eliminate Fear and begin Accepting who we are,

Stop the Hate and start Loving ourselves,

Acknowledge the Pain, but allow time for Healing,

And let go of Anger with each new day Growing.

For the Beneath is done and over, as are its companions and servants. They are done, but you are continual and ongoing, just as the forces that allow us to escape … the Beneath.
