“Revolution.” Blog Spot, https://wwwp-lives.blogspot.com/2021/08/are-we-in-revolution-and-dont-even-know.html.

Everything is changing nowadays; the climate, politics, the way we talk to each other, etc. There is constant emotional and physical turmoil happening in the world right now, and it is time we really address it. People are dying, as always, but in unacceptable ways. Those who are supposed to protect us are destroying us. What are we going to do about it?

In hopes that you aren’t the type that likes to stay silent, let’s say we speak up about our current issues. Let’s say we post some blurbs and infographics on our Instagram accounts, and the word starts to spread about social change. Maybe there are people with YouTube channels, TED Talks, Medium accounts, and more. It is safe to say that, yes. These people are doing their due diligence at talking about the problems going on. It helps, of course, yet this is the slowest action we could possibly take. Letting everyone know the world is upside down is great and all, but we clearly need more.

How about donations? Putting your money where your mouth is is another great facet of social change. Agreed. Money talks, it really does. However, with closer inspection, money is the root of all evil. Shall I quote more? More money, more problems. Money makes the world go ‘round. And so on and so forth. We KNOW! It is incredibly important to uplift those who deserve it by using our pockets intelligently.

Now, the oh-so-scary topic of protesting. Now we’re talking. It’s controversial, alarming, it makes people look up and think, ‘what the fuck is going on?’ That’s the whole point. Protesting is a civil right that everyone on this planet deserves, and we (Americans) so readily take for granted. These social movements are undeniably helpful in making local, and sometimes federal, governments shake in their little boots. Once again, it is not enough. We have been protesting over and over again, yet near nothing. Some old, racist monuments have been torn down, yes, bravo. The old racists are still in office, though. That’s not cool. We really need more.

Throughout history, we have learned how governments change. That is, by way of revolution. We are talking V-I-O-L-E-N-C-E. That is way scarier than protesting. It also sounds absolutely absurd and unattainable. Why? Why can we march on the streets demanding our rights while the authorities stomp us down, and we lose sight of our end-game? Why are they killing innocent people, daily, pretending like the people are the criminals? Again, to sound cliché, we need to show them who’s boss. The people always outnumber the government. We are always rowdier. We are always more passionate and more pure-hearted. We are the ones who keep our world moving. We should call the shots. No more Mr. Nice Guy. We are done. It is time for change, and if that means by force, then so be it. Let’s force those crusty folks out and do what needs to be done.

Obviously, this is very vague and ‘quotey’. However, it is meant to rile you up. Think of your personal cause, and find a way to help it out. If you must uproot and burn down the systems at hand, okay. No one said you couldn’t do that. We support you. We stand. All we have is each other, and it is time to start acting like it. Unity is our best friend. Most of the time, we are fighting for the same rights anyways, so stopping the petty games and banding together is our best bet. Living a better life is possible. For everyone. Let’s get out there and tear some shit up!
