In the course of the past few years, the hemp plant has once again moved more strongly into the public interest. This is hardly surprising, because hemp is by no means just a dubious narcotic.

Rather, the plant has a variety of positive effects on human health. The analgesic effect of hemp, for example, has been appreciated worldwide for ages, and states of restlessness and malaise can also be effectively alleviated. The CBD oil drops, which are obtained on the plant, score with particularly numerous positive influences on the human organism.

What is behind the ongoing trend around the cannabis oil and whether the great hype is justified, explains the following article.

Cannabis oil - What is it?

Cannabis oil, often referred to as CBD oil, is an extract from the hemp plant, obtained from its leaves and flowers. Unlike THC, the CBD contained in the oil does not have an intoxicating, psychoactive effect on users. For this reason, cannabis oil is freely available without a prescription in the EU and Germany.

As a rule, the THC content in cannabis oils is no more than 0.2 percent. The commercial products also feature hemp molecules, turpentine, vitamin E, cannabidiol - the CBD - and cold-pressed hemp oil. The cannabis oil is often offered in the form of extracts that are used orally. In addition, it is also a popular additive in creams or ointments, for example.

How cannabis oil works

There are numerous active ingredients found in the hemp plant, which are referred to as cannabinoids. These include both CBD and THC. The effect of THC is shown to be strongly psychoactive and leads to an increased pulse, great euphoria and strong feelings of happiness. In contrast, the CBD includes analgesic, sedative, decramping and anti-inflammatory effects.

Basically, cannabinoids - and thus also CBD - are chemical compounds found both in the hemp plant and in the human organism. The body's own functions are influenced by CBD as an exogenous, not endogenous cannabinoid, both reinforcing and supplementing.

It can hardly be assumed that CBD unfolds its effect within a few days or even hours. Subjects used the cannabis oil in scientific studies for at least 30 days until the effect could be perceived or proven.

The areas of application of cannabis oil

Sleep disorders are one of the most widespread popular complaints today. Many people feel a great deal of tiredness throughout the day, but cannot find well-deserved sleep in the evening due to circling thoughts and the ongoing stress of everyday life. Its calming effect shows the cannabis oil so, for example, with persistent problems with the through or fall asleep. Serious side effects, as with conventional sleeping pills, are not to be expected by the cannabis oil.

In the case of burnout, depression, anxiety disorders or other problems of the psyche, the active ingredients of the hemp plant can also be a great help. Different studies could already prove that, for example, anxiety disorders could be reduced in more than 30 percent of the test persons.

In addition, patients suffering from chronic pain have also seen great results from the use of cannabis oil. As a support to treat inflammatory diseases of the joints, CBD also works extremely well.

In addition, cannabis oil is also suitable for use in epilepsy and seizure disorders, arthritis and rheumatism, nausea and even the accompanying symptoms of chemotherapy in the context of cancer.

Today, however, there is no conclusive scientific confirmation of these effects. However, there are many enthusiastic users who confirm the positive effects of cannabis oil in the described diseases and symptoms. With regard to the appropriate dosage, it is always recommended to start with a small amount of cannabis oil and to increase it bit by bit over time until the desired effect occurs.
