The Cannabis plant is a complex plant containing a variety of compounds. Of these compounds, a cannabinoid is one chemical compound that acts on cannabinoid receptors in cells that alter neurotransmitter release in the brain. The three cannabinoid compounds most commonly studied are tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), cannabidiol (CBD) and cannabinol (CBN). The plant's components can be used for purposes such as recreational uses, as well as for a variety of other medical purposes. As a drug it comes in the form of dried flower buds (marijuana), resin (hashish), or extracts known as hashish oil. The three main species of this plant that are now recognized are the Cannabis Sativa, the Cannabis Indica, and the Cannabis Ruderalis. With a wide range of medical benefits, each strain has its own range of effects on the body and mind.

The sativa strain tends to create a more energizing experience and has major qualities. This strain can have benefits such as an anti-anxiety, an antidepressant, treats chronic pain, and increases focus and creativity, as well as increases serotonin (a neurotransmitter involved in the regulation of learning, mood, sleep, anxiety, and appetite).

The indica strains offer a sense of deep body relaxation. The major qualities of indica medicinal strains include increased mental relaxation, muscle relaxation, decreases nausea, decreases acute pain, increases appetite and increases dopamine (a neurotransmitter that helps control the brain’s reward and pleasure centers). With qualities such as a decrease in nausea and an increase in appetite, we must consider that this may help improve day-to-day life for people struck with HIV/AIDS.

The ruderalis strain is traditionally used in Russian and Mongolian folk medicine in treatment for depression due to its low THC levels. This type of strain is rarely used for recreational purposes. Although this strain is debated to be a sub-species of Cannabis Sativa, the ruderalis strain is currently considered an independent strain due to specific traits distinguishing it from the Indica and Sativa strains. With a higher concentration of cannabidiol (CBD), this plant type has a high value for patients who are seeking treatment for anxiety and epilepsy. This strain is also used in form to treat things such as cancer, sclerosis and loss of appetite.

(CBD Oil Research) Research on cannabidiol oil (CBD oil) is still new, although accumulating evidence shows that this product can help with anxiety. A research published in 2014 noted that CBD oil has anti-anxiety and antidepressant effects in an animal model. Following research has also determined that CBD oil is an encouraging treatment for forms of anxiety. In my experience, using CBD oils has helped control a high level of anxiety that has hindered me from being functional. As research continues to show little to no side effects from using CBD oils, it might be a good choice for those who do not tolerate the side effects of other anxiety medications. Other examples include CBD toward acne treatments. This condition may be caused by a variety of factors such as genetics, bacteria, underlying inflammation, and the overproduction of sebum, an oily secretion made by sebaceous glands in the skin. With the growth of scientific studies in the cannabis industry, it has been noted that CBD oil may help treat acne due to its anti-inflammatory properties and ability to reduce sebum production.

With the popularization of the cannabis industry, we can now find a variety of online dispensaries that offer an even wider range of products. With the stigmas around cannabis still clear, the idea of having a certain level of privacy while purchasing these products is of great value to customers. The online industry is making it easier for clients to buy these products while still having a sense of privacy. As this industry continues to develop, we can now find this product under forms to be used such as capsules, edibles, and more. While each format has a different result, you may find yourself with enough choices to fit your every need.
