We're living through a historically stressful time, and life as we know it is getting turned upside down and rearranged alarmingly frequently. The Coronavirus came out of left field and it has done a number on us all. For these reasons, the possible health benefits of CBD (cannabidiol) products have never been more desirable. Let's take a look at what CBD is, it's benefits, and see why it's so clutch for tumultuous times.

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol is just one of over 100 chemical compounds that are found in the marijuana plant. Tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, is the infamous psychoactive compound in cannabis that gets its users "high." Unlike THC, CBD is not psychoactive. And because it's not psychoactive, it's legal to buy, sell, and use throughout the United States. This alone, along with its promising health benefits, makes CBD a highly desirable wellness supplement for anyone interested in relieving their pain and enjoying the relaxation without the trippy buzz. CBD oil is created by grabbing the CBD from the cannabis plant and then diluting that with hemp seed oil.

How can I use CBD to take control of my health?

Taking control of your health is as simple as addressing healthy ways to treat any kind of pain and discomfort. The human body possesses a specialized system known as the endocannabinoid system. This system is responsible for regulating various functions like sleep, appetite, pain, and the immune system response. The body also produces endocannabinoids, which are neurotransmitters that bind to cannabinoid receptors within the nervous system. Multiple studies indicate that CBD may reduce chronic pain by directly impacting endocannabinoid receptor activity, decreasing inflammation, and communicating with neurotransmitters.

Tame those anxious nerves

CBD has also been shown as a promising treatment for anxiety and depression. The typical route to address these mental health issues involves pharmaceuticals that can spur unwanted side effects like, insomnia, irritation, and even sexual dysfunction. CBD oil has even been used to help children suffering from insomnia and anxiety as a result of PTSD.

Help address the acne

Possibly due to CBD's anti-inflammatory properties, it also seems to be effective in preventing sebaceous gland cells from secreting extra amounts of sebum, reducing pimples and acne. It even appears to prevent the undesirable activation of those acne-causing agents like inflammatory cytokines.

Could reduce high blood pressure

A promising, but very small study involving CBD included nine healthy males being dosed one time with 600-milligrams of CBD oil. This study went on to find that there was a reduction in blood pressure. As most people know, high blood pressure increases the risk of heart disease and chronic health conditions, including strokes, heart attacks, or metabolic syndrome.

In addition to the one human study, there have been other promising studies in animals. In particular, one was conducted on mice with heart disease, and it showed a reduction in oxidative stress, and also prevented heart damage. More studies need to be done to offer a definitive benefit, but if CBD oil might help, and doesn't hurt, why not add it to your list of healthy habits?

Where can I find CBD products?

Ah, yes, it would seem that CBD is the wellness supplement to try if you're ready to take more control over your physical and mental health, and you don't want to rely solely on pharmaceuticals. But where to go? The process of acquiring CBD for anyone who isn't familiar with the industry can seem daunting; but fear not, here's a promising lead: SeraLabs.

SeraLabs offers premiere beauty products, tinctures, CBD oils, CBD cream, edibles, and even CBD pet products. A note on that last offering: If you're a seasoned pet owner, you've probably seen your pets experience the same kinds of emotional rollercoasters that humans endure. Sometimes, your pets may be so loving and empathetic that it's bearing the brunt of your own life's stresses. That said, CBD treats for pets can work wonders. Just consult a vet before giving them a try.
