zipped bag
a vagabond's narrative
And that’s when I said,
"I don’t know if I can do this anymore,"
reached inside and turned out the light.
Things were so much different before;
And now I’m not sure, I’m good enough to write
with just my brain left to convince, and
that there was nothing here for me to impart, feelings
I’ve held ever since
I zipped my bag with my heart
I slowly gathered the scraps,
now stretched beyond my means,
I started looking at maps,
looking for answers in extremes
and that’s when she said,
"You know I am so damn proud of you,"
and I swear to G-d, I would have stayed
if I remotely thought that were true.
