Your Ultimate Life's Reminder

'cause you’re not just here to exist

By Ann ☕️Published 2 years ago • 1 min read
Scene for my morning jog

You’re not just here to breathe

To wake up and survive

And forgetting to thrive

You’re not just here to perform

A performer of your duties

A completer of that to-do-list

You’re not just here to be a provider

To pay for the monthly bills

Or to buy those “needs”

You’re not just here to be the mood-maker

To fill in the gaps of silence with laughter

Even when you’re a “silence” lover

You’re not just here to be a people-pleaser

To ensure everybody’s happy

Even when you’re feeling crappy

You’re more than that

Your motivation doesn’t need to be based on their validation

You have more than that

Your worth is higher than your bank balance

You’re more valuable than that

Your identity doesn’t depend on what you achieve

You mean more than that

Because you are here to live

To fully live

To see the happiness in the road of your life

Regardless of the weather

To find contentment with what you have

And appreciate the blessings on the way.

To be inspired by others

Find inspiration within yourself

As you become the inspiration to others

You are here to have fun

To smile on life’s silliness

To laugh at life’s quirkiness

And to embrace life’s completeness.

You are here to discover who you are

To fully enjoy the ride

With life’s ups and downs

With life’s varying pace

and with life’s surprising events

You are here to color your life

Like those pens you had when you were a kid

Freely glide those colored pens

To fill that shape, that figure,

That black-and-white drawing

For the main reason that it makes you happy

That you are smiling while doing it

And that you give life to it.
