Distractions can let them down

Dilly-dally, dither,

Incline your ear to hear!

Silly sounding softness, sweet baby cuddles, motherese.

Today you can start again, join the "Good Mom Club"

Reach into your heart, pluck them gifts of time,

Accept them as they are.

Create an environment where they thrive, where they are safe.

T-I-M-E spells LOVE,

I understand your busy-ness; the floor cleaned, the dinner cooked,

Only, they aren’t here forever. One day they fly.

Now is the best time to give them your complete attention, relish their words, applaud their actions, and help them become the best they can be.

This was great. We still struggle letting ours go. They're all adults now.

Beautiful work, and a very true tale about how time passes and what you can miss... Thank you for this...and for liking my own work!
