Well good morning to you

Come on up out of bed,

How’s your stomach

Do you have a sore head?

***

Played up last night did you

And won’t do it again,

But you’ve got a problem

And you’ll need your friend!!!

***

Maybe a problem is not what it takes

Perhaps it’s just habit for you,

Again the promise, you’ll behave yourself

You’ll only have one or two.

***

Then once again

The night is a blur,

You’ve no idea what happened

What really did occur?

***

But who are you fooling

You’ve lost your soul,

Your family all know it

You friend’s the alcohol.

About the Creator

Colleen Millsteed

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.
