Your Fall at Four Months

I was scrolling through my Instagram and Facebook.

Suddenly, your tiny butt met the wooden floor.

I was in shock; this had never happened before.

Your cousin heard your cries and left his notebook.

You were in pain, and I couldn’t stand to look

at your strawberry face, I heard a knock on the door.

Your cousin tried to make you laugh with his roar

and I began to read you a children’s book.

You calmed down when I caressed your silky skin.

You then began to play with the toys in the bed.

I loved seeing you laugh; I gave you kisses.

You played with your stuffed animal, then hit your chin,

but you did not cry, you just laughed instead of turning red

again. I hugged you and said that you are my princess.
