Your colour

(shlonich)

By Freya MavorPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

tell me: your colour

what is it today?

are you honey-wax golden,

dust-grey, pomegranate-tinted

or jade, aquamarine, jet-black obsidian?

a spring palette of waves washes in

my colours are tide marks

drying out in the sun

i soften as vegetables grow

in a garden. life begins again.

though her body was laid down

it returns to the land. my memory

makes way for hope, like sand. though

winter was heavy leaving me empty

of colour, in bittersweetness I am

happy for such bloom. that life

ends to begin again. colours renew.

replete with grace and gravity, my bone

soul and sinew have seen every shade of blue.

i feel all of these colours - what colour are you?
