Young Souls: An Ode to Christopher Lee Chambers

•Courageous young souls treading where no bureaucrats would.

•Gulf of Tonkin incidents & errs— false flags or misunderstood mistakes; for whose sake??

~Young souls gone, after having tread where only angels and heroes could.

•Families perpetually heartbroken for Hills that we couldn’t hold but did take. Meat grinders but not In & Out… Ia Drang & Da Nang. No way out.

•As we study photographs of baby faced heroes, like Christopher Lee—who’ve slept longer under epitaphs & in eternity….. than under their own roofs & in their own beds—in their own homes.

~Young souls gone, after having tread where only angels and heroes could.

•For excuses that they were told, would tell, for withdrawal with honor, for their blood & valor or for dominoes that never fell.

~Young souls gone, after having tread where only angels and heroes could.

•Young souls like Christopher Lee Chambers… supernovas now hanging amongst the stars.

~Young souls gone, after having tread where only angels and heroes could.

•Pour out their libations from your canteens, Stanley cups & Dixie cups too. Honor their young souls & remember their sacrifice…. Their plights.

•While we still hear about the new dominoes like nukes & spooks that go bump in the night. Or closed opened then closed Straits & bloody appetites….

~Young souls gone, after having tread where only angels and heroes could.

•Pondering your memories & your plight, we struggle to understand what only honor could.

• Eternal valor & brotherly love. Here’s an ode to young Christopher Lee. Long may he rest & long may his memory be. Semper Fidelis, young soul, beautiful Christopher Lee.
