You Will Be Forgotten

She wanders the hallways of hell in sheer agony,

After the most horrid of a saddened goodbye,

A necessity to protect her shattered heart,

Although it doesn’t forgo the tears she will cry.

She wanders the pathways lost to her misery,

Stricken with grief,

Struggling and tripping upon her journey,

Finding no relief.

💔

The darkness swamps her aching heart

Rousing her to anger at the pain,

You’ve destroyed all she believed she was,

For what? What is it exactly you hoped to gain?

💔

She cries deep within her soul,

Regretting the time she allowed you into her light,

Raising you and believing in you,

Where you were once her greatest delight.

💔

Who are you?

She no longer recognises the one she knew,

You’ve turned into her greatest disappointment,

Now your true colours shine on through.

💔

To protect what is left of her broken heart,

She scrubs the memories written in blood,

She bleaches the feelings she once held dear,

And lets the tears flow in destructive flood.

💔

Once her heart is banished of the good times

She experienced with you in her past,

She’ll lock the doors on the torment,

And send it off to hell with a blast.

💔

You’ve lost your biggest supporter,

Who’d once forgive you almost anything,

But the scarring you left upon her heart,

Bashes her constantly with its sting.

💔

She lives within the constant darkness,

That’s all you’ve left her with after your latest betrayal,

In some ways it’s a sense of relief,

Honesty now the basis of your portrayal.

💔

She’ll survive,

As she always does given her strength,

But don’t beg her for her forgiveness,

As she’ll always keep you at arms length.

💔

The relationship you’ve destroyed

Will never be the same,

The pain you’ve irrevocably caused her,

Makes you unworthy of her name.

💔

She’ll wallow in the agony,

Until she can once more take up the fight,

She’ll work hard to forget you were once loved,

As she exits the darkness and moves back into the light.
