You Were My Happiness

I Keep Pretending Every Day

By Aqsa IrfanPublished 9 years ago • 1 min read

I keep pretending every day,

I keep promising myself it's the last sad day,

I keep interacting as if nothing is happening around me,

I keep assuring to myself before sleep, "It's temporary, it will pass."

I keep acting like I'm stronger than the dark feelings I get.

I keep smiling in photos like I'm enjoying my time.

I keep sharing things that make me laugh, but inside I'm yelling, "Save me, I'm stuck here."

Because maybe fake happiness is still the worst sadness. 💔
