You spoke

a breath, a thought

that moved from mind to mouth,

the words a declaration. The silence

broken, the heavens responded

to what was spoken. Light. Life.

The world resounded with glory

on display. And word by word

the world was formed, a perfect

masterpiece. How could anything

surpass the wonder of creation?

And yet—how can it be?—

before you spoke, you thought of me.
