You're not Alone

Every single one of us has a Lover

To share this day with

For some

It’s a person

For others

A feeling

This is Healing.

The kind that wraps her pure arms around you

Like a blanket

To wake you up

Not to rest

A time will come for that

Like all things

And she’ll be there to hold you best

But today, it is to mold you

To sculpt you into your purest essence

Beyond the often artificial gestures, we celebrate

Love and her myriad lessons

Sometimes in silent, solitary sadness

Other times in mutual gratitude and gladness

And Every time

In reverence

For the blessing

Of feeling

Today like any day isn’t free of lies

But Today

Like every day

We are reminded we are Alive

We are vulnerable

We have desire

We are beautifully fractured actors on a stage

Here for the craft and worthy of the praise

The Sun is our curtain

Loves wills it to raise

And its rays are the spotlight revealing our days

Flowing through our veins like the scarlet

Red

Theme

Our bleeding hearts are sweet at the center

Like the chocolates we pair with the roses

We share

And the thorns we remove

Because we feel Safe again

Strong enough to stare love in the face again

To sip the intoxicating brew of fate again

To taste again, the nectar of potential heartbreak

And To make peace with the weight again

To embrace the cold bars of heartache again

From which the strength to one day create a gateway

With faith and grace

Flows

It is an honor to spend this day

On the throne of my heart

Because this is home

And if you haven’t already, I implore you

To find your own

Especially if you’re convinced that you’re alone

Because you’re not.
