You of All People Lied
Woke in a fool’s paradise,
where silver tongues weave lies,
words filled with hollow intent,
and truth, a whisper, spent.
You thought me dim,
but I knew the truth,
a tale, a vanished call,
the signs were clear,
I saw them all.
A kinder blade is honesty,
yet you chose deceit.
Calls unanswered,
feigned excuses,
silence speaks when lips refuse.
My tarot warned of lies to come,
never did I think
you’d be the one—
that trust would falter
and drift away.
Thought you liked chatting,
but now you stray.
Now I bolt,
I brick, I bar,
no open paths,
no unhealed scars.
When you don’t pick up my call,
it’s kinder to answer,
explain it all,
rather than send emails
Then pretend you where out.
hollow facades,
as you’ve often played.
Thank God for my tarot cards,
Warning my heart
from this deceptive hurt.
