my younger self told me a story

that a heart being broken

Down into little bits

well, it was a great story, but there was no ending

Someone who decided to break my heart

First of all forgot to mention that in my youth, I recall vividly telling myself that the moments that made up of my favorite subject: long snow days with lots of hot cocoa, quiet moments of feeling free in the back yard creeks

The bike rides with my sisters went flying down a long, deep street, zooming past even as I really recall feeling appreciative in that moment

Like I knew my future

So my younger self kept telling me that story to a much more enlightened person

Love stories that were broken

Before they hit the ground, never running

Dead on arrival

My heart is broken

You

Didn't care

Your heart, thinking about it broken

Makes me cry.

heartbreak
