You'd Hope I Was Happy

Happy On the Outside

I told myself a story,

Told myself I didn't care.

Not for riches, land, or glory;

All I wanted was you there.

There's a reason for emotions,

There's a reason that we're here.

Mountains, valleys, streams, and oceans

Couldn't help my head to clear.

I need answers! I need answers!

Where and why, and who, and how?

Hate my anger like a cancer,

What the hell do I do now?

In my sorrow I had fallen,

I had fallen to my knees.

Heard a whisper softly calling,

Calling softly out to me.

Then as clearly as I used to,

I could feel your presence near,

And I knew I had to push thru,

Like I did when you were here.
