YOU CAUGHT ME WHEN I WAS FALLING

I was grounded, solid, firm and unmovable, like a leaf blade strongly fastened to a branch by its petiole. Knowing my roles and responsibilities well, I stayed focused in delivering my tasks and achieving my goals. I was satisfied with the fruits I bear and continued to work passionately to the best of my abilities.

One day, a wind blew. It was so fierce that it stripped me off the branch and I saw myself floating, going in any direction that the wind could take me. I had no control. I was useless. How could a leaf make sugar when it is detached? I thought it was the end of me.

But then something happened. A hand reached out and caught me in the middle of the storm. It handled me gently and protected me from the wind. I felt its warm embrace and I knew I was in good hands.

He gently placed me in a new environment and I found myself growing roots like a succulent. He kept me indoors under his watchful eyes and I have never been more happier.

Life is good, always good. Just when we think we've reached the end of our journeys, new ones begin.
