It doesn’t work

I tried

Fitting a lion into a matchbox

I tried one paw at a time

It didn’t work

His balance was poor

I tried asking him politely

To breath in

He humoured me awhile

Until his breath came out

I tried getting a bigger match box

They looked at me oddly

There were none in his size

At last I said

Let’s cut you into pieces

Let’s try that

He roared so loud

I almost died

And I realised

You can’t fit a lion into a matchbox

It doesn’t work

My trying died

His true colours took pride
