You are golden

Inspired by the Japanese art of fixing broken pottery with silver and gold laquer.

You are perfect, just like that.

Those scars, the lines and gilt pathways.

The patchwork of your skin.

Are the gilded threads that bind you.

A collage of damage done.

Pain and torment.

Battles won.

They make you whole.

They tell the story of who you were.

The journey you have made.

Through fire and torture.

Cracked and fragmented.

Damaged and scarred over the years.

Don’t feel shame for these marks and blemishes.

Cherish the strength you showed.

The courage to forge on.

Burnished as a jewel.

To become this imperfect finished human.

Broken but golden.

Shining for others to follow.
