You absolute idiot
You messed it all up... you destroyed something
Beginnings at a business training event we were both a part of
Many years ago, I couldn't let thoughts of you go
I tweaked your nose and you pulled a funny face
I loved your playfulness and your masculine grace
I was falling in love with your energy before we ever made physical contact
You were older, so much older, and you made so much impact
Tall, broad, self-deprecating
Never hating
You always tried to understand
To learn and to grow
We embarked on a spiritual and physical journey, we both found 'flow'
You blew my mind
And I blew yours
You told me I was your soulmate
We opened so many doors
You put a band on my finger
You put me through the ringer
Because you broke my heart, when you kept me at a distance
Ashamed of our age gap, you hid my existence
I would have proclaimed to the world, our love
But instead you drew back, gave the worst emotional shove
You treated me so badly, that I had to walk away
Then you accused me of breaking YOUR heart, what a thing to say
A decade later, you confessed that you believed
That I had been cheating, that I had deceived
This was not true, I had loved you so deeply
An intense connection, shattered so cheaply
You admitted you still loved me
And shattered my heart, which was reeking of abandon
When I asked why you hadn't spoken up at the time
You turned on your tail, and I never heard from you again
What an absolute waste, you then married someone you despise
We could have had a beautiful thing
But you blew it, because your head told lies.
