a poem

it is

a shrieking baby's heavenly glow, in a cosmic game of hide and seek

a spring yellow of a daisy's button, in my dog's garden, heaven's newcomer

a watchful, bokeh yellow-white eye of my standby wii, because i, at 3 am

i hear my dad yelling

but it's not the kind of yelling that hardened me, childhood armor encasement

but the pale, weak kind of yelling for help, of terror, from a nightmare

my halo'd tears slipping into couch leather, as a thought turns in my head, "oh even him, even him, my father, gets scared"

i think the color of my soul

is a shy and sweet marigold

an unnoticed outcome in the alchemy of fear, of joy

yes i ooze shimmering, golden love

surreal poetry
