Xanadu of Freedom

A Song of Longing

Abyss of despair, where dreams do fade,

Battered by promises, in shadows laid.

Cacophony of voices, forgotten plea,

Depravity boasts in the silent decree.

Ephemeral whispers of hope arise,

Fading illusions, truth in disguise.

Glimmers of freedom, a distant shore,

Held captive by chains, forevermore.

Injustice prevails, a relentless tide,

Justice obscured, on the other side.

Keening souls, their stories untold,

Lost in the labyrinth, to death are sold.

Muffled cries echo at night,

No refuge found, in the absence of light.

Opulence flaunts, while the meek endure,

Passionate slave, his innocence pure.

Quiet insurrection he longs to ignite,

Rising against shadows, embracing the fight.

Sisyphean struggle, uphill endeavor,

Tattered hope, but not forever.

Unraveling threads of a woven lie,

Vexed by oppression, beneath the sky.

Whispers persist, a resilient song,

Xanadu of freedom, where he can belong.

Yearning for a haven where justice thrives,

Zeal for change, for a hopeful life.

About the Creator

Mason Walters

As a kid I dreamed of worlds where magical powers exist and nations are constantly in power struggles. When I became a Christian, I realized I wanted to devot my ideas to the Lord and here I am writing them down. Writing is a fun art!
