Wrinkles, Aging & Acceptance

Poem about Life

By Ashley HoustonPublished 12 months ago 1 min read
A photo I took a few weeks ago. :)

Moments of trickling time

Eating away at us

Our bodies aging

Becoming wrinkled

As untapped emotions

Spill forth

Creeping through the cracks

Brought on by emotions

Exposing the stress lines

In our façade

Breaking the mask

That hid the age spots

That hid the creeping wrinkles

The denial

The denial of who we are

Scrolling timelines

Searching for memories

Memories of a better time

Of a better place

Not realizing

That time

That place

Is now

This very moment

Even as life becomes painful

It’s not unbearable

It’s not a bad time

Just an off time

A time that will later

Be remembered with laughter
