Wrapping Paper

Crumpled and torn

I am no longer an Empty wrapper

Wadded so tightly as to be packed into a chamber

Simply ammo

Unable to affect my own trajectory

Fired across the glistening wet night

Through air, hot and slippery

Lodged in a target

Not of my own choosing

Residing there

Until removed with forceps

Scooped and left in a bloody pan

Slowly unfurling

Rinsed and disinfected

I am repurposed

Filled with fragrant candy

Rose flavored

Hard crack and crystal clear

Trimmed up with pinking shears

Tied with pink twine

Arranged on a covered crystal charger

In a pleasant pyramidal arrangement
