There are tears cascading down her face.
Caused by pain, not a physical pain though it may feel that way. But an emotional pain leeching from her thoughts. Her raw feelings.
Old wounds bleeding yet again, wounds that never really healed, easily opened with just a few choice words, meant to cut, meant to wound.
Prying open that old hurt.
Nasty words like worthless and stupid bitch.
Passed from one generation to the next, endlessly.
Too many times it is the same baggage, the same crap we swore we’d never do or say. To often it’s still echoing in our own heads from broken childhoods and disfunctional relationships.
Toxic in nature, they continue to spread their poison without cure, causing further damage to all involved. Mother to daughter, father to son.
Take late we sometimes see the cure, in the childs tears. Hugs and asking forgiveness can go a long way towards healing. Both in them and us.
