Wouldn’t it be Nice
A world built on kindness, compassion, respect
Wouldn’t it be nice
If kindness and respect were the normal
Wouldn’t it be nice
If your pup escaped there was no worry about who’d pick them up
Wouldn’t it be nice
If your kids could leave the house without you worrying
Wouldn’t it be nice
If communities were truly strong and tightly knit
Wouldn’t it be nice
If poor expression of emotion was addressed kindly, but firmly
Wouldn’t it be nice
If instead of going it’s because someone drinks asking why it is they drink
Wouldn’t it be nice
If we lived in a world where those calling for accountability took responsibility
Wouldn’t it be nice
If we treated children like we wanted and craved to be treated as children
Wouldn’t it be nice
If our children stopped feeling so alone, judged, wrong that they take their lives and/or others
Wouldn’t it be nice
If age stopped being the guideline of what you can and should be doing
Wouldn’t it be nice
If the elderly were encouraged to stay active, and engaged in their life
Wouldn’t it be nice
If children were believed in, encouraged, welcomed, and active in “adult” activities
Wouldn’t it be nice
If we stopped letting the “leaders” of the world tear us into groups that fight
Wouldn’t it be nice
If it was your decision alone what happens to, and goes into your body
Wouldn’t it be nice
If we stopped hiding from the truth, and letting fear rule the world
Wouldn’t it be nice
If women believed in themselves building each other up stronger, wiser, kinder
Wouldn’t it be nice
If men knew they didn’t have to bare the burden quietly finding peace in whiskey, and rye
Wouldn’t it be nice
If we valued and encouraged an active, compassionate, interested, present father
Wouldn’t it be nice
If mothers knew the burden of the relationship, home, children wasn’t theirs alone
Wouldn’t it be nice
If we respected one’s decision not to have children
Wouldn’t it be nice
If we supported those who decide to bring children into this world
Wouldn’t it be nice
If we stopped fighting to be the better gender instead embracing the differences
Wouldn’t it be nice
If we knew the first sign of civilization was one human helping another survive
Wouldn’t it be nice
If since death is enviable we lived our life courageously until that final day comes
Wouldn’t it be nice
If we lived for our environment, community, and world over ourselves
Wouldn’t it be nice
If our gender did not determine our likes, dislikes, capacity, destiny, style, how we are treated
Wouldn’t it be nice
If the poor were lifted up instead of punished to be kept down
Wouldn’t it be nice
If education was about curiosity, enjoyment, and growth
Wouldn’t it be nice
If judgment was based off of who you are not clothes, race, gender, culture
Wouldn’t it be nice
If how much one made had no influence in determining one’s worthiness
Wouldn’t it be nice
If kindness, respect, compassion were the default towards yourself and others
Wouldn’t it be nice
If kindness wasn’t looked upon with suspicion, disgust, and disapproval
Wouldn’t it be nice
If our world wasn’t fueled by greed, wastefulness, and consumption
Wouldn’t it be nice…
