Smooth Sailing

The more I take away, the greater the impression

Why does this piece feel, so out of heaven

Scratching at the material, working it to the bone

Hard to get it, as smooth as stone

Stroking it gently, carrying the plain, against the rough edge, of the grain

A sculpture it is not, but it is plain to see, at the end of it all, she’ll be ready for sea.

Smooth sailing awaits the sweet lovers from here to eternity.
