Worship.
A poem celebrating the Summer Solstice.
The Summer Solstice is a wonderful and exciting time of year. The earth begins tilting back towards the sun, and we enjoy the longest day of the year. Light triumphs over darkness. Warmth triumphs over cold. And we feel great; energetic; positive. Our health is better, and so is daily life. Colour is everywhere. Nature is busy. Bees hum, birds sing and butterflies visit flowers. In celebration of the Solstice, I wrote this poem.
*******************************************************
Worship her, and show Her you need Her.
Solstice is here.
Turn your face in adoration to Her.
Tilt your smile up to Her in reverence.
Solstice is here.
She has won this half year.
**************************************
He delighted in his cruel stranglehold:
Cruel Winter and his unmerciful months
Of darkness and gales and rattling chains of ice.
Solstice is here.
Let him slink undercover while She reigns.
While we praise.
**************************************
She brings nourishing warmth in Her rays.
Solstice is here.
Our Queen smiles down with delight
Upon her earthly children.
Solstice is here
And we give thanks.

About the Creator
Deborah Robinson
I'm new to the 'writing for real' scene. Previously, I've kept my poetry and writing under wraps in a fancy notebook, but now I've decided to give it a proper go!
I hope you enjoy my work.
Thanks, Deborah.
