Words That Cut

Sharper than any knife

Words That Cut

A voice can wound,

without a strike,

without a hand,

without intention.

I learned this young,

when silence stung,

and simple lines

changed my days.

Some words stay,

long after anger,

settled deep

in hidden corners.

I carry scars,

small and sharp,

each one shaped

by careless tongues.

So now I speak,

as gently as I can,

choosing truth

without cruelty.

Because a heart,

once cracked open,

never beats

the same again.
