Words are hard

Push through the mush,
the grey matter of the brain,
down to the root,
to the spark barely there—
words
forming into thought
then spoken,
bloody on paper.
Push through the unease,
the fog shifting,
moods flipping.
Shove.
Rip.
Tear.
Howl.
Make your mark.
Stake your claim.
Back on the brain again,
the wrinkled mess of neurons and
connections.
Damn, Writer's Block is killing me.
