Words Are Alive!

A Poem on the Power of Words.

Someone said writers are lonely people.

Not I,

I can never be lonely as long as words are alive.

Words scream

they weep

they crawl

Words bellow

they laugh

and shout for joy

Words climb up

Then jumps down

Words heal the body, mind, and soul

Words breathe life into the dead and help to make us whole

Words feed the hungry and clothe the naked

Words heal the broken heart and keep it from tearing apart

Words open mouths, doors, hearts, hands, pockets, and minds

Words give and take

And love and hate

Words are as beautiful as butterflies,

And unique and different as sunsets and sunrises

Words are like bees

They sting but give us something sweet

Words are a writer’s tools of the trade

Words speaks and writers listen

Words sing and writers dance

Words love writers and writers love words

Words are a feast for writers

And writers feed on words,

Words are a writer’s best friend,

Ah yes, a writer will be lonely when words are dead.

But words can never die!

Thank you for reading this piece. I hoped you enjoyed it.
