Woodland Rituals

Pause. You're weightless, healing. Racing mind, bare

to the breeze who strips you of blue.

Inhale, exhale: rituals of care.

Bluebells connect the dots under the glare

of noon. Scattered light soaks leaves through.

Pause your weightless healing. Racing mind, bare

open. Lie back. Earth meets you, still and fair.

Conifers great you, suspend you.

Inhale, exhale: rituals of care.

Carve our names into bark: injure, declare

the world ours, and don't forget to

pause. Your wait, less. Healing, racing. Mind bare,

clearing. A stage. Woodland creatures will stare;

pines, your chorus, remind you to

inhale, exhale. Rituals of care

and love are upheld. Sycamore seeds share

spinning tops' glee, dizzy and new.

Pause your weightless, healing, racing mind. Bare,

inhale. Exhale rituals of care.
